Warranty Policy
Effective Date: 30/05/2025
At Premium Pool Equipment, we pride ourselves on offering only the highest quality pool equipment from Australia’s most trusted brands. This Warranty Policy outlines the coverage, conditions, and processes customers can expect when purchasing from us — ensuring total peace of mind.
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled: to cancel your service contract with us; and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.
The benefits given to you by this warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies you have under a law in relation to the goods or services to which this warranty relates.
You can always come to us. If a product you bought from Premium Pool Equipment is faulty, contact us first and we will handle it. You may also approach the manufacturer directly if you prefer, but you never have to.

Cost of claiming: We pay the cost of assessing, repairing or replacing goods covered by this warranty, if a warranty claim is successful/applicable, including collecting goods that cannot reasonably be returned by you because of their size, weight, or because they are installed.
Manufacturer Warranty Coverage
Most products sold through Premium Pool Equipment are also covered by the original manufacturer’s warranty. A manufacturer’s warranty is an extra, voluntary promise made by the brand — it sits on top of your consumer guarantees and never replaces them. Warranty periods vary by brand, product type and model.
Coverage generally includes:
-
Pool Pumps, Filters, Heaters, Chlorinators, Control Systems, and Cleaners
Coverage generally ranges from 1 to 5 years, depending on the product and brand. -
Robot Pool Cleaners and Smart Equipment
Most brands offer 2 to 3 years warranty, sometimes with additional motor warranty coverage. -
Spare Parts and Accessories
These may carry shorter warranty periods, often 6 to 12 months, if applicable.
These are guides only. The warranty period that applies to your product is shown on your invoice and in the manufacturer’s warranty document supplied with the product. If you are not sure which period applies, contact us and we will confirm it in writing.
Important: these periods are the length of the voluntary manufacturer warranty. Your consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law may last longer — how long depends on what a reasonable person would expect for that product given its nature, price and what was said about it. A product can sometimes be out of warranty and still be covered. If your product fails after the warranty period, contact us and we will assess it.
What you are entitled to when something goes wrong
It depends on how serious the problem is.
- Minor problem — we will provide a free repair within a reasonable time depending on the nature of the problem. We may instead offer a replacement or refund; that choice is ours. We hold the right to refuse to fix the item depending on the fault present.
- Major failure — you choose between a refund and a replacement, or you can keep the product and ask us for compensation for the drop in its value that we will calculate. A failure is major if, for example, a reasonable person would not have bought the product had they known about the problem; it is substantially unfit for its normal purpose and cannot easily be fixed within a reasonable time; it is significantly different from its description; or it is unsafe. Several separate faults can add up to a major failure.
Professional Installation & Warranty Validity
Some pool equipment must be installed by a licensed tradesperson in Western Australia. This is a legal requirement, not a warranty condition:
- Licensed electrician (working for a licensed electrical contractor): any hard-wired equipment, any new or altered circuit, power point or switchboard work, pool lights, and equipotential bonding around the pool. Your electrical contractor must give you an electrical safety certificate.
- Licensed gas fitter: connecting a gas pool heater.
- Licensed plumber: connecting to your mains water supply, installing or replacing a backflow prevention device, and backwash lines connected to sewer.
You do not need a licensed tradesperson for plug-in products such as robotic cleaners and lead-and-plug pumps connected to an existing outdoor power point, or for replacing consumables such as filter cartridges, salt cells and o-rings.
Following the manufacturer’s installation instructions helps your equipment last and helps us diagnose faults quickly.
Having your equipment installed or serviced by someone other than us does not take away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. However, we are not responsible for a fault that was actually caused by incorrect installation, unauthorised modification, or work carried out by a third party. If that is the case we will explain why, in writing.
We offer certified installation services in the Perth metropolitan region. Choosing our professional service helps ensure your equipment is installed correctly and to manufacturer specification.
Making a Warranty Claim
To initiate a claim, please contact our support team with the following:
- Full name and contact details
- Order number and purchase date
- Product name and serial number (if available)
- A detailed description of the issue
- Supporting images or videos (where applicable)
Email: admin@premiumpoolequipment.com
Phone: 0437 958 125
If a licensed tradesperson was legally required to install your product, please send us their details or their compliance certificate if you have it — this helps us diagnose the fault faster. If you do not have it, we will still assess your claim.
We will acknowledge your claim within 2 business days and give you our assessment within 10 business days. Where an inspection is needed, we arrange it at our cost. Once approved, the item may be repaired, replaced, or refunded in line with your rights above and the manufacturer’s resolution process.
What is Not Covered
This warranty does not cover a fault to the extent it was caused by:
- Use of the product in a way it was not designed for, or failure to carry out the maintenance set out in the manufacturer’s instructions
- Repairs or modifications that caused the fault
- Water chemistry outside the range specified in the manufacturer’s instructions, where that is what damaged the component
- An external event such as storm, flood, lightning, power surge, or vermin damage
- Incorrect installation
We will tell you in writing which of these applies and why. None of this affects your consumer guarantees, which continue to apply to any fault that was not caused by one of the above.
Consumables and wear parts
Items such as seals, o-rings, filter cartridges, sand media, salt cells and lubricants wear out through normal use and need periodic replacement. Normal, expected wear over an item’s service life is not a fault, and this warranty does not cover routine replacement.
However, if a consumable is faulty, or wears out significantly faster than a reasonable person would expect for that item, that is a fault and your consumer guarantees apply. Contact us and we will assess it.
Proof of Purchase
Please give us something that reasonably shows you bought the product from us. A tax invoice is easiest, but we also accept an order or confirmation number, a bank or credit card statement showing the purchase, or the product’s serial number if we can match it to your order in our system. Photos and electronic copies are fine.
