Residential installation

What we install.

Every piece of equipment that keeps a pool running, matched to your pool's volume and plumbing before it leaves the warehouse.

01

Pool pumps

The heart of the system. Since October 2022, every pool pump sold in Australia must meet mandatory efficiency standards and carry an energy rating label. We size the pump to your pipework and filter, not just your pool, and program variable-speed models to run low and slow.

Filters

Sand, glass media and cartridge, plumbed with genuine unions and a multiport that's accessible.

Chlorinators & sanitisation

Salt and mineral systems plus liquid chlorine dosing systems. Cells are plumbed last in line, after filter and heater.

Pool heating

Heat pumps sized to your pool and season, gas heaters fitted by a licensed gas fitter, and solar heating systems.

Automation & controls

One controller for pump schedules, heating, lighting and dosing, so you can run the pool from your phone.

All industry-leading brands: set up, tested in your pool and paired to the app before we go.

Covers & rollers

Covers fitted with rollers, including Daisy and Elite, to cut evaporation and hold the heat you paid for.

The part you can't see

Installation is the invisible 90%.

Anyone can connect two pipes. What you're paying for is everything you'll never have to think about again.

  • Licensed electrician for hardwired equipment. In WA, all electrical work must be carried out by a licensed electrical worker. That includes hardwiring pumps, heat pumps and chlorinator power supplies. Ours are verifiable on the WA Building and Energy licence register.
  • Wired to AS/NZS 3000. Equipment positioned to the pool-zone rules, circuits RCD-protected as the standard requires, and equipotential bonding verified, not assumed.
  • Licensed gas fitter for gas heaters. Fitted and flued to AS/NZS 5601 with the flow-proving safeguards WA gas regulations demand.
  • Hydraulics done properly. Pipework sized to keep water velocity down, chlorinator cell last in line, check valves protecting the heater, all per manufacturer specification.
  • Warranty locked in. AstralPool, Zodiac and Davey all condition their warranties on correct installation. We install to spec and set you up with everything you need to register it, so your cover is never in question.

Specified, not guessed

Right-sizing is the whole game.

Oversized wastes money. Undersized fails early. Every quote starts with your pool's litres, not a one-size-fits-all box.

Pumps

Run low, run long

A variable-speed pump filtering slowly for longer uses a fraction of the power: energy.gov.au puts a 5-star pump at around 55% less energy than a 1-star unit. We program the schedule so the savings actually happen.

Heating

Sized to your season

Heat pump capacity comes off your pool volume, target temperature and wind exposure. As a guide, a 36,000 L pool lands around 13–15 kW. Clearances are set per the manufacturer's manual so the unit can breathe.

Chlorination

Headroom extends cell life

Industry guidance is roughly 20 g of chlorine per 10,000 L per day in an Australian summer. We spec the cell above the minimum so it isn't flat-out every hour it runs.

Why it matters

The pool you actually pictured.

Nobody dreams about a pump. They dream about what the right one makes possible.

Commercial & aquatic facilities

Plant rooms, handled.

Schools, gyms, strata, hotels and aquatic centres run under a different rulebook: the WA Health Code of Practice for Aquatic Facilities, made under the Health (Aquatic Facilities) Regulations 2007. We design, install and commission plant to hold those numbers every day it operates.

A spa must turn its water over every 20 minutes. A learn-to-swim pool, every 90 minutes. A 50-metre pool, every 3.5 hours. Compliance isn't a document — it's hydraulics.

Compliance by design

Circulation, filtration and turnover engineered to the CoP category for each water body, sized at 100% design flow with clean filters rather than best-case maths.

Dosing & disinfection

Automatic dosing with fail-safe interlocks: no chemical feed without flow, chlorinators interlocked with circulation pumps, back-up dosing where specified.

Plant-room fit-outs

Pumps, filters and pipework installed for serviceability: individually isolatable filters, sampling points on backwash lines, drained floors, level cleanable pads.

Trade waste & chemicals

Backwash to sewer under a Water Corporation trade waste permit, and chemical storage laid out to WA dangerous goods requirements.

Commissioning & sign-off

Water sampling, commissioning records and documentation to support the health approvals a new or upgraded facility needs before it opens.

Ongoing plant care

Scheduled plant servicing, VSD tuning for off-peak running, and a Perth team that answers when a pump trips at 6am on a Saturday.

Facility operators remain responsible for regulatory approvals. We build the plant and the paperwork that make them straightforward.

Good to know

Installation, answered.

Do I need a licensed electrician to install a pool pump?+
If it's hardwired, yes. In WA, all electrical work must be done by a licensed electrical worker, and that includes hardwiring pumps, heat pumps and chlorinator power supplies. If your old pump simply plugs into an existing weatherproof outlet, a like-for-like plug-in swap doesn't need one, but we still check the outlet, RCD protection and location against the AS/NZS 3000 pool-zone rules while we're there. Our electrical work is done by licensed electricians you can verify on the WA Building and Energy public licence register.
How long does an installation take?+
A like-for-like pump or chlorinator swap is usually done within a couple of hours. A heat pump typically takes half a day plus the electrician's connection. A full plant refit (pump, filter, chlorinator, automation) generally runs one to two days. Commercial plant rooms are scoped and programmed individually. You'll get a timeframe with your quote, not after.
Will new equipment work with my existing setup?+
That's exactly what the free site assessment answers. We check your pipe sizes, pad space, power supply and existing equipment before quoting, and flag anything that needs adapting, like unions, valves or a bigger cable run, as a line item up front. No surprises on install day.
Does professional installation really affect my warranty?+
Yes, and it's in writing. AstralPool, Zodiac and Davey all condition their warranties on the product being installed in accordance with their instructions, and gas heaters must be installed by a licensed gas fitter. We install to manufacturer spec, record the install date and help you register the warranty, so a claim is never argued on a technicality.
Can you install equipment I bought somewhere else?+
Usually, yes. We'll first check it's correctly sized for your pool, because a properly installed undersized pump is still the wrong pump. If it's a good fit, we install and commission it to the same standard as gear we supply. When we both supply and install, you get one point of accountability for the equipment, the workmanship and the warranty.
Is a variable-speed pump worth the extra cost?+
For most Perth pools, yes. Running slower for longer, a 5-star variable-speed pump uses around 55% less energy than a 1-star single-speed unit according to energy.gov.au. On a pump running most of the day through summer, that usually repays the price difference well within the pump's life. Every new pump sold in Australia now carries a GEMS energy rating label, so the comparison is printed right on the box.
What does installation cost?+
It depends on the equipment and what your site needs, so we quote from a free assessment rather than guessing. Every quote is itemised (equipment, labour, licensed trades, any extras) in AUD including GST. Supply-and-install packages are usually the best value because the equipment and workmanship come from one accountable team.
Do you handle commercial plant rooms?+
Yes, from single-pump gym pools to multi-body aquatic plant. Commercial work is designed around the WA Health Code of Practice for Aquatic Facilities: turnover rates for each pool category, fail-safe automatic dosing, serviceable plant layout, trade waste permits for backwash, and the sampling and documentation needed for sign-off. See the commercial section above or request a consultation.
