The Reltech Platinum PLT Series is one of the largest Australian-made single-speed pool and spa pumps on the market, engineered for high flow at high pressure to handle modern pool systems with extensive equipment. Reltech designs its own electric motors specifically for these pumps, with a matched motor and pump wet-end optimised for quiet operation, energy efficiency and long service life.
A computer-designed impeller and diffuser deliver rapid priming and a free, even flow, while the totally enclosed fan-cooled motor with built-in thermal overload protects against overheating. Every PLT pump is factory pressure- and performance-tested, fitted with a high-performance silicon carbide mechanical seal for long life in salt and fresh water, and built from corrosion- and UV-resistant materials. Available in four power ratings from 1.0HP to 3.0HP to suit residential pools through to commercial pools, spas, hotels and health clubs.

Q1: How do I choose the right model for my pool?
Match the model to your pool volume using the Recommended Pool Size column, then check that your pipework, filter and any heater/chlorinator can handle the rated flow. For pools above 100,000 L, or commercial/spa applications with high head loss, the PLT300 is recommended — please contact us so we can confirm sizing for your specific setup.
Q2: Is the PLT Series compatible with salt water and chlorinators?
Yes. The PLT Series is fitted with a high-performance silicon carbide mechanical seal designed for long life in both salt and fresh water, and is designed to operate with most chlorinators, heaters and other pool equipment.
Q3: What pipe size do I need?
The self-aligning ABS barrel unions accept 50 mm pipe ID or 65 mm fitting ID PVC pressure pipe on both inlet and outlet. Smaller-ID piping is not recommended and may damage the pump and void warranty. A straight section of pipe at least 300 mm long should be installed before the inlet for smoother, quieter operation.
Q4: What power supply does the pump need?
All PLT pumps run on 240V 50Hz. The PLT100, PLT150 and PLT200 are supplied with a 2 m flex and 10A 3-pin plug. The PLT300 (3.0HP) is a 15A model and requires a dedicated 15A outlet — a standard 10A power point is not suitable.
Q5: Are these pumps suitable for commercial use?
Yes. The PLT Series is designed for both residential pools and commercial pools and spas including hotels, health clubs and hydrotherapy. Note that commercial installations carry a shorter warranty period (6 months parts and in-field labour) — see the warranty table for full terms.
