The Reltech Premium PR Series is the flagship single-speed pool and spa pump in Reltech’s Australian-made range, engineered for high water flow and powerful performance with low-noise, energy-efficient operation. Reltech designs its own electric motors specifically for these pumps, with a matched motor and pump wet-end optimised for quiet running, rapid priming and reliable performance year after year.
A computer-designed impeller and diffuser deliver a free, even flow, while the totally enclosed fan-cooled motor with built-in thermal overload protects against overheating. Every PR pump is factory pressure- and performance-tested, fitted with a high-performance silicon carbide mechanical seal for long life in salt and fresh water, and built from corrosion- and UV-resistant materials. Available in six power ratings from 0.5HP to 2.0HP — every model runs on a standard 240V / 10A power point — with noise levels from a class-leading 55 dB(A) on the smallest model.

Q1: How do I choose the right HP for my pool?
Match the model to your pool size, filter rating and pipework. As a general guide, the PR50 and PR75 suit small pools and spas, the PR100 and PR125 suit most standard residential pools, and the PR150 and PR200 are recommended for large residential or light commercial installations. If you’re replacing an existing Reltech, Astral, Hurlcon or Onga pump, match the HP rating directly — or contact us for sizing advice.
Q2: Is the PR Series compatible with salt water and chlorinators?
Yes. The PR Series is fitted with a high-performance silicon carbide mechanical seal designed for long life in both salt and fresh water, and is designed to operate with most chlorinators, heaters and other pool equipment.
Q3: What pipe size do I need?
The ABS quick-connect barrel unions accept 40 mm pipe ID or 50 mm fitting ID PVC pressure pipe on both inlet and outlet. Smaller-ID piping is not recommended and may damage the pump and void warranty. A straight section of pipe at least 300 mm long should be installed before the inlet for smoother, quieter operation.
Q4: What power supply do I need?
The entire PR Series runs on a standard 240V / 10A 3-pin plug — no dedicated 15A circuit is required, even on the PR200 (2.0HP). All units come with a 2 m fitted power lead. Reltech recommends installation behind a residual current device (RCD) with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA.
Q5: Does the PR200 require any special installation?
Yes — Reltech recommends fitting a check valve in the suction line of the PR200 (2.0HP) to prevent back-pressure issues that can cause a back-spun impeller. This is a manufacturer requirement and back-spin damage is not covered under warranty. Any pump installed above pool water level also requires a check valve.
Q6: How does this compare to the Reltech Platinum PLT Series?
The PR Series is Reltech’s premium high-performance flagship, available in six sizes from 0.5HP to 2.0HP and running on a standard 10A plug throughout. The Platinum PLT Series is built for very large pools and commercial applications, available from 1.0HP to 3.0HP (the PLT300 requires a 15A circuit). Yes. The PR Series is designed for both residential pools and commercial pools and spas including motels, hotels, health clubs and hydrotherapy applications.
